Organic Turkey Tail Mushroom Stipe & caps, 1/4 lb (113 g) bag
1/4 pound (113 grams) of sliced & dried turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) stipe with caps. Stipe is the stem of the fruitbody. In my system, I induce the mushroom to grow a thick stipe on top of the mushroom block. This is exactly the same method that Reishi growers use to achieve an elongated antler form.
The stipe with caps sample was analyzed and shown to contain 10% more beta-glucans, but less vitamin D and tannins. See the Analysis page for more details.
Contains no substrate. Cultivated organically on northern hardwood sawdust that is inoculated with spawn made from organic oats. Grown outdoors under shade cloth. Dried in the sun for maximum vitamin D content, finished in dehydrator at 145 F, then sealed. Also known as Coriolus versicolor, Yun Zhi, Kawaratake.
These mushrooms are used by making tea or broth. Simmer the mushrooms for about an hour, then strain them out and discard. Keep the tea/broth in the refrigerator.
